Community Visits: Terakhong and Wangoo

29 December 2024 & 12 January 2025

We thank God for enabling us to visit Meitei Christians who have not been able to worship in their church buildings since the ethnic clashes, when their places of worship were dismantled and burned. In both communities, believers have continued to meet quietly in homes, demonstrating faith and perseverance in difficult circumstances.

Terakhong Baptist Church — 29 December 2024. We visited the pastor at the church plot where the building had been completely destroyed. We prayed together on the site and spent time with church members who now gather for worship at the pastor’s residence.

Wangoo Meitei Christian Community — 12 January 2025. Their church building was also dismantled during the same violence. The fellowship once included more than 70 members; however, fear and displacement have scattered some believers, making it difficult for everyone to attend. Without a church building, those who are able now worship together in the home of a church member. We continue to pray for safety, restoration and faithful worship.

Dedication and Thanksgiving Gathering

January 2025

Bethesda’s archive records a Thanksgiving gathering attended by more than 100 pastors, evangelists and church members. A message from John 5:1–15 encouraged participants to remain steadfast in their calling and press forward in faith. The day concluded with fellowship and a shared meal.

Couples Seminar

22–23 March 2025

Bethesda’s photographs record a two-day Couples Seminar held on 22–23 March 2025. Participants gathered in a church setting for small-group learning, conversation and fellowship. The seminar provided a time to encourage couples and strengthen relationships rooted in faith and mutual support.

18 June Gathering

18 June 2025

The archive records a small gathering on 18 June 2025. The photographs show participants meeting in a simple indoor setting and later together outdoors. This field gathering was marked by shared time, conversation and fellowship among those present.

Bible Study Group

3 September 2025

On 3 September 2025, a Bible Study group met in a simple local setting. Participants gathered around the Word for teaching and discussion. This regular, personal form of ministry creates space to learn Scripture together and to encourage one another in faith.

Kom Bible New Testament Release and Distribution

6 October 2025

By God’s grace, a Thanksgiving and Dedication Service was held on 6 October 2025 at K.R. Lane Baptist Church, led by the Association’s Executive Secretary, Rev. L. Solomon Kom. After the service, church leaders and pastors received more than 4,000 copies of the Kom New Testament for distribution across Manipur. For the Kom people, this was a historic moment—the first accurate Bible translation in their own language in more than fifty years of Christianity. Bethesda gives thanks to the Trinitarian Bible Society and Bearing Precious Seed, Ohio, for their support in bringing this milestone to the community.
